Coagulant Clear AL

Part no. RXSOL-37-1904-025

Also known as: Coagulant Aluminium Sulfate based, WEDOLIT SA 1, Inorganic Coagulant

Coagulant Clear AL is an inorganic coagulant used for clarification of potable water, process water, and wastewater. It destabilizes colloids and fine suspended solids, forming voluminous floc that enmeshes particles for efficient sedimentation/filtration. Coagulant Clear AL also reduces turbidity, color, and phosphorus (as orthophosphate).
  • Chromium-/chloride-free
  • Effective over pH ~5.5–7.7 (optimum typically 6.0–7.0)
  • Works synergistically with coagulant aids/flocculants (e.g., anionic PAM, PAC)

A high-efficiency Inorganic Coagulant designed for solid–liquid separation in water and wastewater treatment. It effectively destabilizes suspended particles, enabling rapid floc formation and clear water production. The product ensures low sludge volume and improved filtration efficiency.
Ideal for municipal, industrial, and process water clarification applications.

Application

Key Areas of Application of Coagulant AL

  • Municipal: surface water clarification, phosphorus removal, tertiary treatment
  • Industrial: process water, RO pretreatment, cooling tower blowdown, paper & pulp, mining, food & beverage effluents
  • Sludge conditioning ahead of dewatering

Technical specifications

pH (neat) Acidic
Solubility in water Miscible in all proportions
Insolubles ≤ 0.2 % (water-treatment grade)

Works best when pH of water is 6-7

Precautions

Key Features of Coagulant Clear AL

  • High-clarity coagulant: Consistent aluminium content for steady jar-test to plant scale-up.
  • Fast turbidity & color reduction: Rapid formation of dense floc for efficient settling/filtration.
  • Phosphorus control: Effective orthophosphate removal; tune via Al:P molar ratio (typ. 1.5–2.5:1).
  • Optimized pH window: Performs best at pH 6.0–7.0 with adequate alkalinity.
  • Predictable alkalinity demand: ~0.5 mg/L as CaCO₃ consumed per 1 mg/L product (design-friendly).
  • Low insolubles / low iron: Clean solution (insolubles ≤0.2%, Fe ≤0.03%) to protect filters and membranes.
  • RO pretreatment compatible: Low organics, minimal fouling risk when dosed upstream of media/UF.
  • Municipal & industrial ready: Potable/process water clarification, tertiary WWTP, mining, pulp & paper, F&B.
  • Coagulant-aid synergy: Works with anionic PAM and polyDADMAC micro-doses for tough organics.
  • Easy handling: SG 1.34–1.36 @ 25 °C, pumpable, fully miscible in water; feed via standard chemical metering.
  • Material compatibility: Store/handle in HDPE/FRP/PVC/PP; avoid carbon steel contact.
  • Sustainable operations: Reduces sludge water content via dense floc; sulfate addition predictable for compliance.

Notes

  • Rapid coagulation – Quickly neutralizes particle charges for effective floc formation.
  • High clarity output – Produces clear, low-turbidity water.
  • Versatile application – Suitable for a wide range of raw water qualities.
  • Cost-effective treatment – Reduces chemical and sludge handling costs.
